Join fill-in host David Schonfeld for Wednesday Evening Classics on April 29, 2015 from 4-8 p.m.
At 4:00, David will welcome as a guest to WWUH, the Music Director of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Carolyn Kuan. Maestra Kuan has just signed a contract to extend her tenure at the HSO by another 6 years, through May 2022. There will be lots to discuss!
As his major musical offering this evening, David is planning to play a complete performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams's 1911 ballad opera, Hugh the Drover. It contains a delightfully tuneful score and an appealing love story whose action takes place around the First of May during the Napoleonic period.
