The movie Gasland, Part II, will be shown at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 10th at the University of Hartford. The event is free and open to the public. The movie will be shown in Auerbach Auditorium which is in Hillyer Hall on the UH campus, 200 Bloomfield Ave, W. Hartford, CT.

Multi-instrumentalist Marty Ehrlich has become one of the most highly regarded jazz musicians of his generation. His latest recording, A Trumpet in the Morning, is one of his most ambitious projects to date, featuring a large ensemble performing six Ehrlich compositions, including the title track, a 23-minute epic inspired by an Arthur Brown poem.

Join host Maurice D. Robertson for Accent on Creative Music, Wednesday night, April 16, 2014 from 9 p.m. to midnight.

At 10 p.m., Maurice will talk with pianist, composer, and bandleader, Omar Sosa. Omar will discuss his recent live New Afro Cuban Quartet Live in Japan recording and his tours both in Europe and here in the United States.

Jazz trumpeter Charles Tolliver, who made his professional debut with saxophonist Jackie McLean in the mid-1960s, remains a creative force in jazz at age 72. He has worked with some of the most important improvisers of the past 50 years, including Horace Silver, Sonny Rollins, and Herbie Hancock; and has led numerous bands of his own--both small and large ensembles.
