Claudia Oakes is Assistant Professor and Health Sciences Program Director, in the Department of Health Sciences and Nursing, within the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions (ENHP), at the University of Hartford.
In this interview, Claudia talks about her background; the Health Sciences degree program; the scope of occupational therapy and allied professions; modifying homes for safety and convenience; Rebuilding Hartford Together and National Rebuilding Day; her research into the acceptance and effectiveness of home modifications; aging in place; knowing when it's time to relocate; her student project in home modification services; counteracting stereotypes on aging.
