I was an 80’s kid, but my family didn’t listen to 80’s music at home. Consequently, most 80’s references are lost on me… however, I had a seemingly endless supply of classical records at my fingertips. I devoured these for hours on end, and when I became a paperboy and was able to purchase for myself a stereo system with what they were calling a compact disc (CD) player, I spent all my extra money on even more classical recordings—narrowly missing the 90’s grunge era. Meanwhile, I was fortunate to have joined the Porter County [Indiana] Children’s Choir and started playing the double bass by age 8. These days, I sing bass II with CONCORA and Voce, and I play double bass for the American Chamber Orchestra. My primary vocation, however, is pastoring Third Congregational Church in Middletown, CT, where I also live with my two inappropriately affectionate Pitbull mixes.
