Fox News first aired Meltdown in 2004, then pulled it from its archives - this devastating story brings together issues of nuclear weaponry, nuclear power plants, Iraq and Afghanistan-Pakistan wars, and mass media. What is our government doing with depleted uranium? What can nuclear power plants withstand? Why is the US in trillion-dollar wars of choice while our citizens lose jobs, health care, educational opportunities, civil rights and liberties, and environmental justice at home?
This searing film brings home the reality of a nuclear meltdown in the United States so realistically that it almost seems true...and could be. One cannot easily forget this important and rare movie.
