Beyond the Classroom - Lynne Kelly (Part 1)
Join Beyond the Classroom host, David Schonfeld, on Thursday, October 31 from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m (repeated at 7:30 p.m.).
In Program #9, David talks to Lynne Kelly.
Dr. Lynne Kelly, Professor and Director of the School of Communication, teaches courses in group, organizational, and interpersonal communication; communication technologies and relationships; research methods; and a special communication course for shy and apprehensive students.
In the first part of this two-part interview, Dr. Kelly talks with David about communication training for reticent persons, public speaking techniques, and best practices for meetings.
In the next broadcast (Program #10), Dr. Kelly talks about the use (and misuse) of meetings, email, the telephone, texting, and the new social media technologies; "channel choice", effectiveness and appropriateness in communication; and the enduring place of face-to-face contact.
