Bob Celmer is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hartford.
In this first segment, Bob talks about his musical background, his interest in jazz and his association with WWUH Radio; his engineering background and concentration in acoustics; the field of acoustics and its importance; the scope of Hartford's undergraduate Acoustics program; its two degree paths including a unique music-and-acoustics hybrid; careers in acoustics; the 6 branches of the field, as taught at Hartford: architectural acoustics, musical acoustics, environmental acoustics, hearing and psychoacoustics, audio, and noise control; the value of including an acoustician in an architectural design team.
