Jazz trumpeter Charles Tolliver, who made his professional debut with saxophonist Jackie McLean in the mid-1960s, remains a creative force in jazz at age 72. He has worked with some of the most important improvisers of the past 50 years, including Horace Silver, Sonny Rollins, and Herbie Hancock; and has led numerous bands of his own--both small and large ensembles. |
