Tuesday Classics - Tippett and Schuttenhelm
Join host David Schonfeld on Tuesday, May 1 from 4 to 8 for a program highlighting the work of the celebrated English composer, Michael Tippett (1905-1998). Tippett lived a long and principled life and took an active role in political and social movements. As a composer, he was an iconoclast, and has still not attained the reputation he deserves.
David will be joined for this week's exploration by composer, professor, and Tippett scholar, Thomas Schuttenhelm. Thomas will talk about Tippett the man and composer. There will be plenty of recorded musical examples.
