Out Here and Beyond - Delfeayo Marsalis

Trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis, a member of one of New Orleans' most famous jazz families, will be the subject of a WWUH interview on Tuesday, March 27 at 10 a.m. Chuck Obuchowski, host of "Out Here & Beyond," will conduct the interview. Chuck will also feature recordings by Delfeayo, particularly selections from last year's "Sweet Thunder" release, inspired by Duke Ellington's musical interpretations of characters from William Shakespeare's plays. Tuesday Morning Jazz airs from 9 - noon.
The Delfeayo Marsalis Quintet performs this Sunday, April 1 during the annual West Hartford Rotary Club Jazz Brunch, at the Hartford Club, 46 Prospect St., Hartford, from noon - 4 p.m. Marsalis will be joined by saxophonist Mark Gross, pianist Johnny O'Neal, Hartford-born bassist Dezron Douglas and drummer Winard Harper. A gourmet brunch by Chef Chris Kube is included in the ticket price. Proceeds will go to "Gifts of Music" and other Rotary charities. Details at 860-409-6883.
