Evening Classics - The Art of Fugue
On Tuesday May 31 and Wednesday June 1 between 4 and 8 pm, host David Schonfeld will feature Johann Sebastian Bach's Die Kunst der Fuge, (The Art of Fugue). This amazing work, posthumously published and titled, is Bach's musical testament and the apotheosis of instrumental counterpoint.
Over the span of the two programs, David will play a colorful variety of instrumental renderings, including harpsichord solo, chamber orchestra, viol consort, piano solo, string quartet, and saxophone quartet. Few classical compositions sound as persuasive in so many different guises.
