Multi-instrumentalist Marty Ehrlich has become one of the most highly regarded jazz musicians of his generation. His latest recording, A Trumpet in the Morning, is one of his most ambitious projects to date, featuring a large ensemble performing six Ehrlich compositions, including the title track, a 23-minute epic inspired by an Arthur Brown poem.

Jazz trumpeter Charles Tolliver, who made his professional debut with saxophonist Jackie McLean in the mid-1960s, remains a creative force in jazz at age 72. He has worked with some of the most important improvisers of the past 50 years, including Horace Silver, Sonny Rollins, and Herbie Hancock; and has led numerous bands of his own--both small and large ensembles.
